John Madden will show you a gunslinger. Madden beat Vesa Toskala on a go-ahead shorthanded goal to propel the Devils over the Leafs 3-2. Madden was cheered on by the bench as he skated one-on-one against the goalie. Memo to Toronto: if you have a one man advantage? There is no reason to allow a guy to take your goalie head-on.
FIIIIIIIIIGHT! Brooks Laich and Mike Richards got into a brawl, and Richards needed twelve stitches across his nose to close a gash. Richards came back the next period to score the go-ahead goal to send the Flyers over the Caps 3-2.
Don’t book those hotel rooms in June just yet. The Sabres got lit up by the Panthers 4-2 behind two goals from Richard Zednik. Vokoun got the W for the Panthers, stopping 26 shots.
Fucking an Orca isn’t great cardio. Marty Turco got yanked early as the Stars fell to the Coyotes and their iTunes playlists 5-0. Turco got pulled late in the first after falling behind on two easy shots.
Nashville wins! And everything is okay again. The Preds beat the Oilers, scoring three goals in the third. Jason Arnott chipped in the go-ahead and Radek Bonk got the insurance goal before an empty netter leading the Villains to a 4-1 win.
Kings for a night. The Kings, starting to hit their “stride”, beat up on the Sharks 5-2. Dustin Brown had two goals and Mike Calimari (I know) had a goal and two assists. I’d offer more in the way of analysis, but it’s 1 AM and NHL.com hasn’t put up a recap yet.
