Making Puck: Swollen Belly Edition

As you literally roll your turkey-stuffed ass out of bed this morning/afternoon…

What? I didn’t have any corn! The Senators, however, have hit a bit of a rough patch. After starting the season like gangbusters, the Ottawans have dropped four of six. Last night was a shootout loss to the Penguins. Despite the presence of Hockey Jesus and his disciples Malkin and Staal, it fell to Jarkko Ruutu to score the winning goal. This must have been a fun one to watch, as each team scored five times in regulation. The game got off to a roaring start with a diving penalty (also on Ruutu) and a fight just a minute and a half into the contest.

Unfortunately, my neck does look like a vagina. That’s been about the only downside for Henrik Zetterberg this season, who scored again for the Wings. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The Predators overcame six first-period penalties, with Radek Bonk scoring the game-winner in the third. Nashville, despite the massive outflux of talent in the offseason (Kariya, Forsberg, Hartnell, Timonen) is hanging tough in the West.

It did sound a little wet, there didn’t it? Right at the end! Oooh! Heh heh heh. Let’s have a smell, all right? Oh, everyone likes their own brand, don’t they? The Flames did everything they could in this game. They outshot the Blackhawks 31-14, were only whistled for three penalties, and generally treated the home crowd to their very aromatic brand of hockey. Unfortunately, the Hawks got an early shorthanded goal, and a late goal from Patrick Sharp, to pick up a 2-1 victory.

Ahhhhh! Ma titties! Paul Stastny had a nice pair. Of assists, that is, to lead the Avalanche past the Oilers 3-2. The Avs spent most of the second period on the power play, and although they didn’t score on any of their four chances, they wore down the Oilers with a 16-2 advantage in shots, leading to two even-strength goals.

  1. Move over Mr. Hockey, and make room for the Jarko Ruutu hat trick: Two diving penalties and the shootout winner.
